*Turn around time is dependent upon special stains; special stains are set up on Wednesday. The muscle biopsy protocol is for diagnosis of equine polysaccharide storage myopathy. For diagnosis of equine motor neuron disease, biopsy of the sacrocaudalis dorsalis medialis muscle (dorsal tail muscle) is required.
