**Fee is $36 each for the first test, each additional test from the same owner at the same time is $24 per test.
An antibody screen against the TP antigen (IgM) and the F antigen (IgG) are performed on all sera. If positive, the serum IgG antibody is endpoint titered for an additional fee ($40).
Antibodies against the “TP” antigen indicate recent, active infection. These are primarily IgM antibodies which appear within several days of infection. This ID test is usually positive within 1 week after infection and reverts to negative within a few months.
Antibodies directed against the “F ” antigen indicate active or recent past (up to 1 year) infection. The ID test is usually positive within four weeks after infection and remains positive throughout the clinically active disease.
The high rate of negative serologic tests observed among certain culturally demonstrable cases limits the predictive value of a negative test. Cross-reactions may be observed in patients harboring infections caused by other systemic fungi
