| Collect fresh tissues as indicated above; submit each tissue individually bagged, labeled with permanent marker. Collect whole blood in EDTA tube, collect TTW and transfer to leak proof tube. Freeze tissues, refrigerate blood and transtracheal wash. Do not allow blood to freeze |

| EHV Type 1 & 4 can be associated with respiratory infections and abortions. This PCR assay will detect EHV-1 and EHV-4, but will not differentiate between the neuropathogenic and non-neuropathogenic genotypes of EHV-1. See "EHV-1 PCR" if interested in testing for the neurologic form of EHV. * Fee is $36.50 each for the first 2 tests, each additional test at the same time is $25.50 per test. |
