Nasal or throat swab
Collect nasal swabs into dry sterile tubes(synthetic swab - avoid wooden or paper shafts). NO Q-TIPS. Tubes should not contain anticoagulant or gel; plain red-top vacutainer tubes work well. Place transtracheal wash or tissue into sterile, leak-proof containers. Keep specimens refrigerated. NOTE: If culture is desired, submit a duplicate swab in the appropriate bacterial transport media.
*Fee is $36.75 each for the first 3 tests. If 4 or more tests are submitted from the same herd at the same time all tests are $33.00 each
Analytical validation is complete; however, clinical/diagnostic validation, according to AAVLD/OIE standards is in progress.
**STAT fee of $30 will be added for STAT requests.
