If additional testing is required for diagnosis, individual fees for each test will be added to the invoice. After necropsy, representative remains (head, heart, and hooves) will only be released to a licensed cremation service. Arrangements must be made directly with the crematory prior to delivery to the OVDL. If no selection is made, routine disposal will be completed. The pathologist on-call has the discretion to accept an emergency case (e.g., emergency herd health, food safety, public health/human health). If accepted after hours, on weekends, or on holidays, there is a surcharge of $200. If a legal or insurance case, a surcharge of $250 may be added.
