Research/Career Interests:

I am a small animal veterinary surgeon, with a focus on orthopedic and neurologic surgeries. My research focuses on knee problems, specifically, restoring the canine ACL, which is called the “cranial cruciate ligament” in dogs. Cranial cruciate disease is one of the most common causes of lameness in dogs. My goal is to improve upon current procedures as well as to develop new techniques with improved outcomes. Currently I am investigating a procedure similar to what is performed in human medicine, in which the torn ligament is replaced with a donor ligament.

My other areas of interest include total hip replacement, sports medicine, fracture repair, and angular limb deformities, although I enjoy all facets of orthopedic and neurologic surgery.  Through my research efforts and clinical work, I hope to improve the quality of life and well-being of your pet.
