Dr. Stacy Semevolos has over 20 years experience in the field of comparative sports medicine and orthopedics, focusing on musculoskeletal disease, osteochondrosis and articular cartilage development of horses.  Her studies explore molecular expression changes in osteochondrosis, a disease of young fast-growing horses, including two funded by the American Quarter Horse Foundation.  She is also interested in orthopedic diseases affecting llamas and alpacas, including suspensory apparatus breakdown (dropped fetlocks) and the use of platelet rich plasma in treating ligament and joint injuries, with several studies funded by the Northwest Camelid Foundation.
