Ultrasound

Case 1 is a 5-year-old Muensterlaender

ultrasound-foreign bodyforeign body
The dog had a draining tract at the dorsal side of his metacarpus and the referring veterinarian had twice surgically explored the area, but could not find a foreign body. An ultrasound was performed at the Lois Bates Acheson Veterinary Teaching Hospital and a foreign body was found on the palmar side of the metacarpus. The foreign body had migrated from the dorsal side, where the draining tract was present, into the soft tissue on the other side of the metacarpal bones. Surgery was performed with ultrasound guidance and the foreign body was removed. The dog recovered well and is asymptomatic.
