Detection of Coccidioides IgG serum antibodies against the F antigen by agar gel immunodiffusion. The presence of IgG antibodies directed against the F antigen indicate active or recent past (up to 1 year) infection. The IgG antibody AGID test is usually positive within four weeks after infection and remains positive throughout clinically active disease. Samples must be received in the lab by 5 pm the day prior to testing, otherwise samples will be held until next scheduled testing day. Please call us at 541-737-2172 if testing a large number of animals. While advance notice is preferable, it is not required.
