CSF-1.0 ml (0.5ml EDTA and 0.5ml in red top tube). Samples must be refrigerated. Do not centrifuge or freeze samples.

Collect atraumatically in a red and lavender top tube. Samples must be refrigerated. Do not centrifuge or freeze samples.

Additional Information: 

Cytologic evaluation of cells from CSF samples. Includes gross examination, cell counts, glucose, CK and microprotein. Preparation of direct, concentrated and cytocentrifuge slides (where indicated), and microscopic evaluation by a clinical pathologist. Provide a brief clinical description or history. Test is available STAT for additional fee. After 5:00 pm, test is available as “Call In” for additional fee.
