My name is Samantha, and I’m part of the Class of 2029. I’m originally from Fresno, California, where I worked as a registered veterinary technician. I worked in small animal private practice for six years before returning to school to pursue my goal of becoming a veterinarian. I graduated from Fresno State University with my degree in animal science while continuing to work as a technician and balancing life as a parent. I have a strong interest in small animal medicine, particularly emergency/critical care and general practice.
I’ve loved my experience at OSU so far — the small class size, supportive community and on-campus veterinary teaching hospital have made it an incredible place to learn. I’m also serving as co-president of the Shelter Medicine Club and enjoy supporting both students and the community.
Outside of school, I enjoy visiting Newport, hiking Oregon’s waterfall trails and reading fantasy novels on rainy days.
