Amy was a great cat and a joy to share home & life with for 13.5 years. A beautiful orange, black & white Calico, Amy & her sisters were born to a stray mother who gave birth in the home of a local animal rescue volunteer. On meeting 6 month old Amy, she rolled onto her back, saying “Take Me!” Friendly & playful Amy was soon in charge of the house. She loved her home & the 2 dogs who joined us. “Sharing” the dog bed meant Amy slept on the dog bed—the dog slept on the very edge. Her favorite game was to run under a throw rug, “hiding”. A treasured time with Amy was sitting on the front porch in the morning sun with her. She knew “go out?” meant time in the sun. At age 9 Amy was diagnosed with a rare, incurable cat disease—Feline Progressive Histiocytosis. She bravely went through many skin surgeries over 5 years, keeping her sweet nature & wanting to be with her people throughout. OSU Oncology advised and cared for Amy during her progressive, rare disease for which I am grateful. Rest in peace and sunshine, dear Amy.
