Like all pets, Apollo- aka "Shrimpy"- was one of a kind. We planned on taking home just one kitten - his "brudder", Atlas - but Apollo was our "happy accident" that we came home as well. They were bonded littermates and though I thought that term was just a ploy to encourage taking more kittens home from foster, they were truly the absolute best of friends. Apollo was the one that usually got to hold the brain cell. He was constantly curious, loved his crinkle balls and was always looking for the next perfect box to snuggle in to. We joked that when he was younger, he had the most awkward-looking face and his screechy meow just didn't make sense. But he grew into any incredibly handsome boy and his voice is probably what we miss most now. He was feisty and though he was the "smaller" of the two, he'd hold his own proudly in the daily Wrestle Mania sessions with his brudder, that were as entertaining as anything we'd ever witnessed. Though Apollo was very affectionate, he cuddled on his terms but he would ALWAYS be willing to roll over for a good belly rub - his favorite. He was an incredibly sweet, sweet baby boy and he had a ravenous appetite that would put a glutton to shame. When he got sick, it wasn't fair. More than anything he was too young, too healthy and he had too much yet to give to the world. He was brave and resilient and constantly fighting and it broke our hearts to pieces when he couldn't fight any more. He's the perfect angel with the goofiest voice and he'll be forever missed, eternally loved.
