Black and white photo of a horse walking across grasslands with their owner sitting on their back

Batman came into my life when I was getting certified for Equine Assisted Learning. We connected immediately. In fact, the person responsible for his care said at the time, when I can no longer have horses he will go to you. I shared my life with Batman for ten years. I know we all say it, but he truly was the best horse. Working cows, barrel racing, pole pending, trail riding, teaching leadership to kids, teaching team building to corporate adults, he did it well. He would carry the most beginner riders gently, yet was incredibly responsive and eager with an advanced rider. I have loved him with all my heart for over a decade and was so very very sad to lose him on May 10th. My home is filled with pictures of him and of us together. The attached picture is one of my favorite. We were on a cattle drive on the Blackfoot Reservation in Montana for a week and had the best of times. Thank you, sweet sweet boy. I will miss you always.
