Clive was very special when he came into my life, you see he was first my sons-in-laws cat, he had gotten out of the house on Thanksgiving and had seen a dog and ran up a 25 ft tree next to their home. They owner of the dog felt really bad and had known someone who had a 25ft ladder. He agreed to climb and try and coax or get Clive down. Well he had him in his hands and something scared Clive and he flew out of his hands and as I and my son-in-law were holding on to the ladder I turned to him and said is he dead because all we heard was a splat, he looked at me and said no, he is in shock and ran away. We looked for him that evening and couldn't find him, so I had said if he came back I would take him, my cat Rebecca was old and she would just ignore him.. Clive did come back was wounded and had to be taken to the vet right away, he would have to stay with his family for about two weeks till he came home with me. He had to wear the cone of shame for that amount of time. He had hurt his leg and his tummy, but he would be ok. He came to me at the right time, he was very skiddish and Rebecca as I thought ignored him lol.. He was still considered a kitten and he loved to try and play with her but she wouldn't have it. Rebecca soon became ill at 15 years, and she went over the rainbow in Oct 2021. It has just been Clive and I for the past 5 years. He would sit and watch TV with me and lay next to me, he had a hard time with people holding him, towards the last few months of his life he was letting me hold him and give him cuddles, whenever I was on the phone he had to start meowing I guess telling me he wanted me to talk to him instead. He is so missed and will always be thought of. He is now with Rebecca which helps me feel comfort knowing they are together now.
