Our family recently said goodbye to Doug, our beloved retriever. His passing was somewhat sudden, even though he had dealt with chronic health issues for some time.
Doug helped raise our kids. He was part of the rhythm of our family life for years, and losing him has been especially hard on them. We got Doug when my son was 9 years old and my daughter was 4 years old. He really did serve a purpose in this home, and was a significant being in our house for all these years. He gave meaning to "Man's best friend". This week, we received a touching card from Oregon State University’s Carlson College of Veterinary Medicine letting us know that Pacific Avenue Veterinary Clinic made a donation in Doug’s memory to OSU’s Pet Memorial Program. The gift will help support scholarships for future veterinary students. It was such a thoughtful gesture, and a meaningful reminder of the compassion that can surround us during difficult moments. We’re grateful to Pacific Avenue Veterinary Clinic for honoring Doug in a way that will help care for animals and families for years to come. ❤️ Thank you so very much Pacific Avenue Veterinary Clinic in Forest Grove, Oregon.
