Henry, Our Precious Little Rescue Dog 06/01/2013 - -3/14/2025
Shortly after the loss of our first dog, we adopted Henry and he rescued us from our grief, just as much as we rescued him.
He was so unique—my shadow, our bestest boy. He loved soaking in the sunshine, playing with his brother, and enjoying his favorite toys and treats.
Though he was on the shy side, when we walked the Oregon Coast at Road's End for some beach therapy, he became the leader of the pack, his spirit shining as bright as the ocean waves.
Over the years, Henry faced many health challenges. From an irrational fear of everyday noises—like knives on dinner plates or an elevator bell on TV—to major dental issues, cataracts, and eventually glaucoma, he bravely endured it all with the help of our wonderful veterinarians. Dr. Rodriguez, Dr. Pow, and Dr. Norman at Bethany Family Pet, and Dr. Boles at The Animal Eye Doctor, we are so grateful for the excellent care you provided Henry. And to the incredible doctors and staff at OREV and VCA Northwest, who babied Henry through his fight with cancer, we are forever thankful. We certainly tried hard to give him more time.
Henry was so deeply loved and is so painfully missed. Letting him go was the hardest thing we've ever done. Forever wouldn't have been enough time.
Thank you, sweet Henry, for loving us unconditionally and for sharing every minute of the last 11 ½ years with us.
Mama and Papa love the Boo.
We will spend the rest of our lives missing you—until we meet again, little one.
