Kaino rescued me more than I rescued her. Although she had trust issues with many people, she was a loving dog to family. She also had authority over a cat nearly twice her size. They loved each other and one minute would fight and the next cuddle. She loved to go for walks and make certain all was right in the neighborhood. If I tried to change routes, she would look around as if concerned I may be getting us lost. Playing consisted of running. She loved her backyard and ran in circles inviting me to chase her. I often thought that she had memorized the dog etiquette book. She always waited for me to enter the door first.
Kaino was a great dog. Her death has left a giant hole in my life.
Good dog, Kaino!
