After 6 years of courting we decided to make it official and become a blended family, my husband having 3 daughters (14, 10, 5) and I a son (10). Im sure you can imagine the challenges that came our way daily. My Husband already having a beloved family pet, agreed to bring one more into the herd. We went to look and the newborn puppies, it was a hard choice but as soon as we spotted the one sticking her tongue out at us we knew she would be the one to fit right in. And fit right in she did from the moment she arrived home. She was so cute and goofy, always entertaining us with her upside down yoga moves and her never ending playfulness. As time went on we noticed that suddenly where we had previously been his/ hers/ theirs and ours, Kloe was our conduit to us melting together as a family. It was, "get Sissy", or "where is Mommy?" or "Daddy is going night, night". It actually began to feel like a family. And Kloe always loved each and every one of us evenly. She never held a grudge, and never told anyone's secrets. She taught us so much about trusting, and taking care of each other. In short, she made us better people.
Of course we have ten and a half years of wonderful memories and lots of hilarious stories that we reminisce about from time to time and losing her was, and is, still very painful, but it helps to know that because of First City Veterinary Hospital's donation to OSU veterinary students, Kloe is still making people...well, better.
