I worked at a local grocery store while i was in high school 2007. An old friend that I hadn't seen for awhile had came in and of course we had to catch up. She had asked about my family and told her what was going on and that I recently had to let my female pug cross the rainbow. Now my make pug and grandfather were slumps and things didnt feel right at home. (I also took care of my grandfather). My friend had mentioned that she had a litter of American Staffordshire Terriers and she had 1 left but she was runt and if I wanted she would let me have her for free. She was 1 of 16 puppies, on the smaller side. I went home and talked to my grandfather and we decided yes. Next day went out to my friend's house and picked her up and brought her home. She definitely was on the smaller side but she was perfect to me. My pug was over the moon to not be alone. From there we went everywhere together. Hiking, the beach, restaurants, parks, camping, family gathers and of course local pet shops for treats. Anywhere I could take her I did. Then of course life happens and I became pregnant. Still by my side up until I gave birth. Once my daughter arrived I couldn't believe how gentle and calm she was the baby. Always watching and listening. She would let me know before I could hear my daughter's cry that I was needed. Lola did the same when I was caring for my grandfather while on hospice. Letting me know when I was needed. She was something else in mine and my family's eyes. I know there is a void in my heart that will never be filled. Lola was 17 years old when I had to say goodbye. I'll never forget the amazing adventures with her and al cuddles and endless love she shared. l Love you Lola until we see each other again.
