It is not easy to sum up almost 11 years of love and light in words. Lucy was a ball of energy, a light in our house, she was the true meaning of what it means to be a best friend. Lucy endured two leg surgeries due to torn meniscuses in her lifetime, at ages 4 and 7. You would not know this just by looking at her. Her energy never dwindled. Our beloved Lucy passed away due to lung cancer at age 10 1/2. We never knew she had this until the last week of her life. That is how full of light and energy she was, she hid her discomfort well. Lucy is going to, and will be, missed deeply. She was the perfect dog and the perfect companion.
