When we first brought Maliki home, knowing he was deaf, we set out to make him as comfortable as possible in his new surroundings. He was this beautiful blue eyed playful pup that didn't know he was deaf. As the years went by, he learned from our other dogs and was pretty good at sign language. He lived here on our little farm with many other animals....horses, goats, chickens, ducks cats, always a gentle soul with them all. His favorite thing was the "truck" and the beach. If I even tried to sneak out and hook up the trailer, he somehow knew and would run in circles around them because he know what it meant. Beach trip with Mom. He loved the beach so much because it was the only place I could let him run without a leash. I could drive way down where there wasn't a threat of other vehicles because he couldn't hear them coming. I can't explain the pure joy he had while there. He then got sick. No tests, x-rays or ultrasound could figure out what was wrong.......In just 4 months my boy was gone. I'm devastated.....heartbroken. I miss him so much. A giant void in our home.
