Minka found me while I was working at Willamette Humane Society. I was running their Thrift store, and outreach adoption center. We were in the middle of many home renovations, and we were not looking for a new pet at the time. Minka showed up at our store, and I quickly fell in love with her. She looked like a miniature Bengal cat, and never weighed more than 7 lbs. I could tell she was highly intelligent, and special, but also very mischievous. She was at the adoption outreach for quite awhile, and I grew to love her more every day, as her crazy little personality grew on me. I also realized that she was going to be a lot for someone to take on unless they were really in tune with this crazy little cat. Having worked, and volunteered at many shelters I realized that she would likely get returned if not adopted by the right person. She was at our adoption outreach for many months, and no one was interested in her. The shelter called and wanted to take her back since she wasn't getting any interest at our location. I knew then that it would break my heart to see her go, and decided to adopt her. She was in our lives for 16+ years after adopting her, and I have to say she will be one of the most memorable kitties we have ever owned. She looked unique, had human-like facial expressions, was super intelligent, feisty, but loving, and also one of our most expensive cats as she had more health issues than we could count. She outlived her first death prognosis by 5 years, and was still our most active lively cat up to her last day. She made us laugh, stole our hearts, challenged our patience, and pocket books, and in the end broke our hearts the hardest. Our home seems so dull without her, and we miss her immensely. RIP Minka
