I remember the day when my husband, Roger, came home from work with a tiny orange kitten poking his little head out of his jacket. On that day 16 years ago, we named that kitten Sandy. Roger found Sandy in a puddle crying in the middle of a country road intersection. Two of his litter mates, not as fortunate, were laying next to him.
Sandy would be our first kitty with four more rescues to follow. Roger and Sandy were best buddies. Sandy always loved cuddling in Roger’s lap in the recliner.
Sandy was Roger’s CONSTANT companion while he battled ALS. As Roger gazed into Sandy’s eyes , and Sandy stared back, Roger would say “ I wonder what he is thinking and if he knows how much I love him”. Roger and Sandy are together now. Sandy was a gentle, sweet and devoted companion. He is missed.
