Smokey came into our lives 15 years ago when he was a kitten at the neighbors house. As he got bigger he attached himself to our other cats and our house. One day the neighbors moved and Smokey was still with us. He quickly became part of the family. In the summer he would bring us long pieces of grass or snakes as presents and in the winter he would bring in the biggest leaves he could find, no matter how decayed or wet they would be.
Smokey was one of the most loving cats I have ever met. He was able to climb on me and lay down without me noticing and when I did finally notice he would look me and purr. He never fussed (at least with me) when it was time for his pills; he would often politely push my hand away with his paw, as if to say "not right now mom," but in the end he would easily take his pills. He was support for our other cat Azrielle while she battled cancer and now they can play together once again. He lived a full life with a few near death experiences that only seemed to make him stronger. Words cannot express how much I miss this little guy and how much he touched the heart of all that knew him. He will forever be with me in thought and spirit.
