We adopted Stella along with her brother Stewey in January of 2021. She was such a gentle baby girl, never cried, growled or made a peep. She only cared about a few things in life and that was chasing frogs, butterflies and my husband. She would sit and just stare at him with so much love in her eyes. When he came home, the world disappeared. He could do no wrong and he melted in her little paws. She was like a little baby rhino who stormed around the house without a care in the world because she knew how much she was loved.
On July 9, 2022, our family dropped she and her brother off at the pet resort that we normally take them to when we go out of town. She had just gotten a clean bill of health from the vet on July 5th because she was due for a check up. We were having the vacation of a lifetime when we got the phone call that would change that on the morning of July 18th...the voice on the other end of the line stated that at some point between 11pm and 7am that night, Stella had passed away in her sleep. There weren't any signs of struggle or incident and her brother was in the kennel with her laying by her side. She was just 2.5 years old.
We were and still are distraught over the loss of our baby girl as we will never know why we lost her. We never got to say goodbye to her, kiss her little cheeks or make sure she knew how much we love her. From the moment we saw her, she wrapped her sweet little chubby paws around our hearts and never let go. Rest well baby girl, we'll see you again one day and when we do, prepare to be smothered in kisses and loves.
Always and forever-
Momma, Daddy, Lucas and Stewey
