Tucker came to us with his brother Ben when they were 10 weeks old and stayed for nearly 9 years. He was the funny, athletic, curious one. Off leash, he would take off running, putting in many more miles than his humans or even his brother. Starting at 6 months, the boys spent 20 hours during every finals week at our university hanging out on campus. Designed to reduce students' stress, staff and faculty frequently stopped by the "dog room." Tucker was a favorite when he was out on leash, especially at the library. Our friends loved Tucker; Joe, the boy next door, grew into a man playing catch with Tucker. (Ben is a Golden Retriever, not Golden Returner.) Tucker loved swimming, loved the ocean - on both coasts - and would swim out as far as you could throw into the waves, picking up one, two, or even three sticks. He and brother were traveling dogs from the time they were puppies. They camped with us all over the northeast. Ben and Tucker crossed the country with us - twice - making friends everywhere they went. We miss our congenial, affectionate friend, as does his brother.
