Shipping Requirements
Label all samples. Ship tissues on cold packs. Tissue or feces: sterile, sealed, leak-proof plastic bag or container. Swabs: anaerobic transport media.

One or more of the following: fresh tissue, swabs, feces, aspirates or other fluids.
Collection Protocol
Sample should be aseptically collected. Do not add formalin, saline, or broth to fresh tissue.
Identification of bacterial pathogens requiring an anaerobic environment by culture. Requires concurrent aerobic culture. Specimens received from 4-5pm Monday- Friday and before noon on Saturdays can be set up same day with STAT Fee.
