Shipping Requirements
Label all samples. Ship overnight with cold packs in an insulated container. Serum can be shipped refrigerated or frozen, Whole blood can only be shipped refrigerated. Ship Monday-Thursday only. Glass or plastic tube with no anticoagulant additives.
Specimen Requirements
1 ml Serum from Whole Blood. Whole Blood Clotted, Red Top Tube. Whole Blood Clotted, Serum Separator Tube.
Collection Protocol
Collect serum from clotted blood in a non-additive tube (e.g. plain red top or serum separator). When possible, transfer clear serum off the clot into a new tube. Excessively hemolyzed or lipemic samples are not acceptable for this test.
Detection of antibodies to bovine respiratory syncytial virus (BRSV) by virus neutralization. Testing days are dependent on sample load. Please call us at 541-737-2172 if testing a large number of animals. While advance notice is preferable, it is not required.
