Label all samples. Ship overnight on cold packs. Protect samples from direct contact with cold packs. EDTA tube (purple top) and slide container.
Specimen Requirements
1 mL EDTA whole blood and 2 air dried slides.
Collection Protocol
Peripheral blood smear should be prepared at the time of collection.
WBC estimate, PCV, PP and PLT estimate. Microscopic blood smear review for WBC differential, cellular morphology, hemoparasite exam. Test available as STAT with additional Fee.
