Turn around times are dependent upon whether ancillary testing is needed, 4-6 weeks is standard.
Shipping Requirements
Ship overnight in an insulated container, with ice packs. Remains may also be delivered to the OVDL between 8am-5pm, Monday through Friday. Afterhours drop-off must be arranged with a Pathologist and incurs an additional surcharge.

Collection Protocol
Keep specimens refrigerated. Freezing should be avoided but may be acceptable to prevent excess autolysis. Freezing may render samples unsuitable for certain tests, including microscopic examination.
The listed fee includes external examination of the animal, examination of the internal organ systems, and microscopic evaluation of tissues (as needed for diagnosis).If additional testing is required for diagnosis, individual fees for each test will be added to the invoice.Necropsies performed for forensic, legal, or insurance purposes will incur an additional fee.**Due to extreme short staffing, receipt of FINAL necropsy reports may be significantly delayed. Emergency herd-health concerns will continue to be prioritized. Post necropsy, remains will only be released to a licensed crematory service. Arrangements must be made directly with the crematory service prior to delivery to the OVDL. If no selection is made, routine disposal will be completed.
