Turn Around Time
Turn around times are dependent upon whether ancillary testing is needed, 1-2 weeks are standard.
Shipping Requirements
Ship overnight in an insulated container with ice packs. Remains may also be delivered to the OVDL between 8 am-5 pm, Monday through Friday. Afterhours drop-off must be arranged with a Pathologist and incurs a $250 surcharge.

Fresh whole body
Collection Protocol
Keep specimens refrigerated. Freezing should be avoided but may be acceptable to prevent excess autolysis. Freezing may render samples unsuitable for certain tests, including microscopic examination.
Removal of the spinal cord for gross and microscopic examination in addition to ancillary testing as determined necessary by the Anatomic Pathologist.
