Student Ambassadors

Vivian Michaels

Hi, everyone! My name is Vivian (she/her/hers). I’m currently in the Class of 2029. I am an out-of-state student from New Jersey and completed my bachelor’s degree at Michigan State University in honors zoology. I am interested in specializing in small animal medicine, but I am still deciding what interests me most! I am involved in student council for the Class of 2029 and a member of the Student American Veterinary Medical Association E-Board. In terms of school clubs, I have membership in radiology, dental and surgery clubs.

Taylor Owens

Hello everyone! My name is Taylor (she/her), and I’m a member of the Class of 2029. I was born and raised in Minnesota before attending the University of Arizona, where I earned my degree in animal science. I’m interested in small animal medicine and may pursue a specialization in the future. Currently, I serve on the student council and as a student ambassador for the American Heartworm Association. Outside of school, I enjoy reading, hiking, trying new restaurants, shopping and spending time with friends.

Shayley Padilla

Hi there! My name is Shayley, and I am a student in the Class of 2029. I am from Southern California and went to Cal Poly Pomona for my bachelors in animal science degree and am interested in small animal medicine. Before coming to OSU for vet school, I took a couple gap years and in that time was able to travel, learn to surf, participate in some community volunteering, gain work experience at a couple different animal hospitals and of course spend time with my cat Chip (the big guy pictured).

Samantha Lippert

My name is Samantha, and I’m part of the Class of 2029. I’m originally from Fresno, California, where I worked as a registered veterinary technician. I worked in small animal private practice for six years before returning to school to pursue my goal of becoming a veterinarian. I graduated from Fresno State University with my degree in animal science while continuing to work as a technician and balancing life as a parent. I have a strong interest in small animal medicine, particularly emergency/critical care and general practice.

M'Kenzie Kirchner

Hi there! My name is M’Kenzie Kirchner, and I am in the Class of 2029! I am originally from Newport, Oregon. I completed my undergraduate degree in animal science at Montana State University in Bozeman, Montana. I am interested in large animal and equine medicine, specifically general practice. Here at CCVM, I am involved in multiple student organizations/clubs. I am currently the secretary for the OSU Student Chapter of the American Association of Equine Practitioners and a student representative for Purina.

Makayla Clawson

Hey, everyone! My name is Makayla, and I am in the Class of 2028. I have a focus in small animal medicine. In my time at CCVM, I have managed to make many friends along the way and immerse myself into all that OSU has to offer including being a CCVM student ambassador, SAVMA historian, LVMA member and Shelter Medicine club member to name a few. Having gone to OSU in undergrad and being a first generation in-state student, it is exciting to experience new opportunities from OSU through its DVM program.

Maggie Stone

Hello! My name is Maggie, and I am in the Class of 2028. I grew up in the Chicago area (Naperville, Illinois) and completed undergrad at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. As a nontraditional student, I took a six-year gap before vet school to work, travel and move to Portland, Oregon. Fun fact: I've been to all 50 states and over 30 countries!

Logan Klar

Hello! My name is Logan, I am in the Class of 2029. I come from a small animal general practice background in Ogden, Utah. I grew up in the mountains and my hobbies include rock climbing, hunting, camping, skiing, river rafting and other outdoor activities. I was born and raised in Hilo, Hawai’i Island, then graduated from the University of Hawai’i at Mānoa with a degree in animal science.
