Samples must be received in the lab by 5 pm the day prior to testing, otherwise samples will be held until next scheduled testing day. Detection of the bacterial causative agent of Foothill Abortion / Epizootic Bovine Abortion (EBA) by real time PCR Test is available as STAT if requested, for an additional fee. Same day results provided for STAT specimens submitted before 10:00 a.m. Results for STAT specimens submitted after 10:00 a.m. receive priority status and are reported as soon as they are available, at least by the following business day.

Culture and identification of target organisms (MRSA, S. equi, Salmonella, etc.) Contact lab for specific concerns.

General evaluation of samples for virus particles using transmission electron microscopy (TEM). Samples must be received by 5:00 pm Tuesday for processing on Wednesday. Processed samples are examined by TEM on Thursday mornings with results reported by Friday. Reporting of results is dependent upon availability of the TEM facility.

Measurement of Na, K, CL and CO2 Test available as STAT with additional Fee. Panel Includes: Chloride, Potassium, Sodium, Total Carbon Dioxide (tCO2)

Culture and identification of E. coli 0157:H7

Detection of E. coli K99+ by real time PCR. The E. coli-K99 PCR assay is specific for detection of the K99+ antigen and will not detect other strains of E. coli. Test is available as STAT if requested, for an additional fee. Same day results provided for STAT specimens submitted before 10:00 a.m. Results for STAT specimens submitted after 10:00 a.m. receive priority status and are reported as soon as they are available, at least by the following business day.
