D-Dimer

Measurement of D-Dimer by automated analyzer. Test available as STAT with additional Fee.

Cytology - Body Fluid

Quantitative measurement and cytologic evaluation of cells from fluid samples. Includes gross examination, total protein concentration, cell counts and PCV for grossly hemorrhagic samples; preparation of direct, concentrated and cytocentrifuge slides (where indicated). Provide the origin of the fluid (pleural, abdominal, pericardial, synovial) and a brief clinical description and history. Note: Other fluid samples such as BAL/TTW, FNA from dermal mass, abscess or bile are ordered as Cytology-Aspirate/Smear. Test available as STAT for additional fee.

Cytology - Aspirate/Smear

Cytologic evaluation of aspirates and/or impression smears and microscopic evaluation by a clinical pathologist. Provide the origin of the aspirate (e.g. abscess, tumor, liver, fluid from dermal mass) and a brief clinical description or history. Lymph node fees are charged per site. Lymph nodes may be submitted as a single site, if indicated on submission form or as a note in the Portal submission. If not specified, all sites will be billed for accordingly. Test is available STAT for an additional fee. After 5:00pm, test is available as "Call In" for an additional fee.

Cryptosporidium spp. PCR

Detection of Cryptosporidium spp. by real time PCR. Test is available as STAT if requested, for an additional fee. Same day results provided for STAT specimens submitted before 10:00 a.m. Results for STAT specimens submitted after 10:00 a.m. receive priority status and are reported as soon as they are available, at least by the following business day. Test also available as part of the Ruminant Scours/Enteric PCR Panel.

Cryptosporidium and Giardia FA Exam

Fluorescent microscopic exam of feces for giardia cysts and cryptosporidia

Cryptococcus Rule-Out Only

Culture and identification of Cryptococcus gattii or Cryptococcus neoformans.

Cryptococcus Antigen Detection Panel

The Cryptococcus Antigen Panel is a two test combination. Testing should be done when clinical evidence suggests diagnosis of cryptococcal disease and not as a screen procedure for the general population. The first test is a lateral flow assay which yields a presence/absence report for detection of the capsular polysaccharide antigens of Cryptococcus species complex (Cryptococcus neoformans, serotype A and D, and Cryptococcus gatti, serotype B and C). It not does provide a quantitative titer of the antigen concentration.

Cryptococcus (C. neoformans, C. gattii) Antigen Latex Agglutination

Detection of capsular polysaccharide antigens of Cryptococcus species by latex agglutination. This test provides both a qualitative and semi-quantitative titer of the Cryptococcal antigen in serum or CSF. Samples must be received in the lab by 5 pm the day prior to testing, otherwise samples will be held until next scheduled testing day. Please call us at 541-737-2172 if testing a large number of animals. While advance notice is preferable, it is not required.

Cryptococcal (C. neoformans, C. gattii, CrAg) Lateral Flow Antigen Detection

Detection of capsular polysaccharide antigens of Cryptococcus species complex (Cryptococcus neoformans, serotype A and D, and Cryptococcus gatti, serotype B and C) by lateral flow assay. This test only provides a presence/absence report, not a quatitative titer of the antigen concentration. Samples must be received in the lab by 5 pm the day prior to testing, otherwise samples will be held until next scheduled testing day. Please call us at 541-737-2172 if testing a large number of animals. While advance notice is preferable, it is not required.

Crossmatch (SA)

Detection of hemagglutinating antibodies in serum via microscopic and macroscopic evaluation, respectively. Test available as STAT with additional Fee.
