Willy was our third black labrador retriever and fourth hunting dog in the past 35 years. Born on Sauvie Island, nothing brought him more pleasure than romping through the marsh. During his life he retrieved hundreds of waterfowl and many pheasants. But what Lynn and I remember most was Willy’s gentleness with our 3 young grandchildren and Lynn’s aging mother. He seemed to understand the very young and very old and took great care to lie quietly by their sides. We will always miss his smiles and the way he carried his leash when he had to visit the vet. Willy was everyone’s buddy and he will be missed by all. Rest in peace old boy!
