Light brown dog standing near the door and waiting for go for a walk

Pacific Avenue Veterinary donated to the OSU Carlson College of Veterinary Medicine in our dog, Bruno’s honor. He was so deserving of this. I left the OHSU Neonatal ICU after 40 on disability. I had become overwhelmed with the gravity of care, the poor outcomes and what I perceived as my failure to improve our statistics. I became unable to leave our property (we have a small farm). I had watched a special on PTSD shelter dogs for veterans and believed one of these could really help me. At Petco he was tied up to a post, his head on the ground not looking at anyone until I walked by. He was such a big, generous, imposing and troubled dog and he accomplished everything he could and more. With him in the car or with me on a walk or run I was able to go back out. I will always be so grateful for his huge personality and what we accomplished together.
