Our dear Bart was a good natured, generally mellow and relaxed kind of guy, but with a playful streak. He was also a sociable personality, frequently even with strangers. We called Bart our “greeter cat” as he would typically appear and greet us when coming in the door, and would sometimes do this for visitors as well. While rarely a lap cat, he would often hang out nearby, and if he wanted more attention than you were giving him, he would reach out and gently tap you with a paw. If Bart were a human, he would invite you to sit, relax, and have a beer with him.
During his years with us, Bart saw six other cats come and go, but he was like a stable fixture in our home and lives. Though he had some health issues in later years, Bart was pretty tolerant of the treatments and maintained a good attitude, almost seeming to understand that we were trying to help.
We are very happy for the extended time we had with Bart, but we still miss him greatly.
