Hello! My name is Donnie Alverson and I am a second-year student at the Carlson College of Veterinary Medicine. I am currently co-president of the Zoo, Wildlife and Exotic Animal Medicine Club, Treasurer of the Class of 2027, and Historian of the Latinx Veterinary Medical Association chapter at OSU CCVM. Before starting veterinary school, I worked for nearly a decade for San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance as an Avian Recovery Specialist in Hawaiʻi helping in efforts to conserve endemic populations of Hawaiian forest birds. My interests in veterinary medicine are in wildlife and zoological medicine, especially in the conservation of endangered species. I am also interested in clinical pathology, oncology, and emergency medicine. In my free time I enjoy exercising, hiking, and spending time with my dog Marlo. Feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions about veterinary school. I would be happy to talk to you.
