Jill Chapleau is a native Vermonter and an alumna of Vermont Technical College’s Veterinary Technology Program. In 1996, she began her career as a Technician in a busy small animal surgical and emergency practice, eventually also serving as their weekend practice manager. Later, she served in two separate appointments as Program Technician for Vermont Tech’s Veterinary Technology Program. In that role, she instructed students in all laboratory classes and oversaw the care of the College’s menagerie of cats, dogs, rodents, rabbits, reptiles, cattle and horses. In between those appointments, she worked as Farm and Laboratory Operations Manager for The Binding Site which operates a large sheep farm which produces and harvests polyclonal antibodies for use in human diagnostic testing.
Jill’s professional interests include behavior (she is Fear Free Level 1 Certified) and feline medicine. She is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Diversified Agriculture in furtherance for her passion for large animal care which was inspired by her time at The Binding Site. When not working with animals she enjoys yoga, martial arts, motorcycle touring and hiking, especially in the desert southwest.
