After graduating from the Oregon State University Carlson College of Veterinary Medicine in 2012, Dr. Schoenhals completed an equine medicine and surgery internship at Comstock Equine Hospital in Reno, Nevada. From there, she practiced out of Mountain Point Equine Hospital in Bluffdale, Utah until joining the ambulatory service here at Oregon State University.
Her professional interests include preventive medicine, acupuncture therapy, field management of neonates, geriatric care, internal medicine and reproduction. In addition to her regular patients and clients, Dr. Schoenhals volunteers her veterinary services for many of the hard-working horses living in developing countries. This has included past projects in Nicaragua and Mexico but most recently, she has been traveling to the Philippines through a partnership with International Veterinary Outreach.
Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. Schoenhals spends her spare time tap dancing and playing soccer but especially enjoys exploring the outdoors via horseback, skis, river raft and/or guided by her four-legged pals Flour, Wings and Birdie.
