Biography

Dr. Sears joined OSU in July 2021.

Dr. Kelly Sears is a highly skilled and passionate large animal internist, specifically interested in neurology and neonatology. She grew up in West Texas, where she developed a love for animals and the outdoors. Dr. Sears pursued her veterinary education at the University of Florida, College of Veterinary Medicine, graduating in 2010.

She continued her training with a residency at Washington State University (WSU), where she also earned a Ph.D. in Immunology & Infectious Disease. During her doctoral training, she also worked with the Clinical Communication Program as a communication coach and was actively engaged with the Simulation Center. In 2015, Dr. Sears achieved board certification in large animal internal medicine.

Outside of her professional life, Dr. Sears enjoys staying active through hiking, running, and weight lifting. Her dedication to both her career and personal interests highlights her commitment to health and well-being, both for herself and the animals she cares for.
