Hello all, my name is Kelsey, a member of the class of 2025. I grew up exploring the Tetons in Jackson, WY and traveled to Washington state where I received by BS at the University of Puget Sound. I then spent a few years teaching Outdoor Ed in WA and CA where I discovered a love for working with reptiles, raptors, marine animals and chickens! Paired with my lifelong love for dogs and medicine, exploring vet medicine seemed the obvious choice. I proceeded to work for a couple of years at a raptor rehabilitation center and small animal hospital to test that theory and soon found myself a part of this amazing community. Here at the CCVM, I am a part of the pathology club, ethics club and the foal team and currently see myself pursuing a career as a clinical pathologist, and/or in wildlife rehabilitation. My non-school self can usually be found exploring the outdoors, cooking, playing music, and disc golf. Considering my alternative path to vet med and financial insecurity, the idea of vet school was beyond intimidating. It was an uncomfortable and brave decision and I couldn’t be prouder of myself for committing to building my vet experience and taking the plunge. I feel honored to be your resource and am more than happy to share my own experiences and financial navigation of vet school with all. Don’t hesitate to reach out no matter where you might be in your own journey. Congratulations for coming as far as you already have!
