Hello! My name is Maggie Mysz (she/her) and I am in the class of 2027 here at CCVM. I grew up in the Chicago suburbs and completed my B.S. in Microbiology and MPH in Epidemiology from the University of Minnesota. I have lived and worked in Bakersfield and Sacramento, CA and Bend, OR. I didn’t always know I wanted to become a vet. I worked in the public health field for 6 years before deciding I wanted a career change. 6 months shy of my 30th birthday, I shadowed a veterinarian and knew this was the career for me. I have an interest in mixed animal general practice and would love to own a clinic someday.
In my free time, I love to run/hike, spend time with my dog, and cook and eat good food. I am currently training for a 100 mile running trail race. I believe you can still have a work-life balance in vet school and continue to do the things that you love; I find that making time for myself keeps me motivated and makes vet school a more enjoyable experience. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions or would like to chat about the DVM program, Corvallis, Oregon trails, and dogs!
